White House Extends Solar Panel Import Tariffs

On February 4, 2022, President Biden extended the existing tariffs on certain photovoltaic cells and single side solar panels for an additional 8 years. The tariffs were originally imposed on January 23, 2018 by President Trump via Proclamation 9693 and were in effect for 4 years.

President Biden's new proclamation extends the tariff period for an additional 8 years, with tariffs remaining at current levels for 4 years and then decreasing over the remaining 4 years.

Bifacial panels continue to be excluded from this extension of assessment of duties.
